The funny part is these were printed in the US designed in the US at University of Nebraska-Omaha and its Center for Afghanistan Studies. A USAID grant paid for the whole thing then went on uninterrupted through till the current invasion
I recognize the printing anywhere, same fonts, type set ,illustrator and color scheme. Which is quite different from the one used by the local Dari or Pashto press . To their credit the course work of the textbooks the centre produced was not that bad though it did give you a deep knowledge about the various Soviet mines out there.
Even the lack of nuance is a dead give away Propaganda leaflets produced locally are heavy on quotes from scripture or pictures of victims of war. The illiustration are pretty hamfisted an bely a lack of any local knowledge. Caricatures are not really well developed form in the Pashto or Dari press anyways.
может врут конечно... война в сумерках... но вот что "Caricatures are not really well developed form in the Pashto or Dari press anyways" - это точно, для того времени.
