Там все очень кратенько. Даже сканировать не надо, так напишу.
Эритрейцы купили 4 МиГ-29 и 1 29УБ. Переучивание прошло пять их летчиков, крайне быстро, за 2 недели, боевое применение практически не освоили, парами летать не могли. Поэтому решили применять их одиночно. Никаких украинских советников у них не было, всё эритрейцы делали сами.
Эфиопы приобрели 6 Су-27 и 2 27УБ, к ним около сотни Р-27Р и Т, небольшое число Р-73 и Р-60МК, всё это из наличия ВВС РФ. Всё хозяйство прибыло в Эфиопию с 10 по 23.12.98. С ними прибыли около 300 человек, которые должны были полгода эфиопов обучать. 06.01.99 одну спарку потеряли при показе пилотажа, ее заменили в течение нескольких дней.
23 февраля эфиопы начали свое наступление и поначалу эритрейцы попытались противодействовать их ИБА (МиГи 21 и 23БН) на своих МиГах. По результативным эпизодам написано два абзаца:

On the morning of 25 February, the Ethiopians failed to detect the first of several low-flying ERAF fighter-bombers, and these therefore evaded interception, even although a pair of Su-27s was airborne over the front lines most of the time. The situation changed in the afternoon, however, when an ERAF MiG-29 appeared over Badme. Two Su-27s turned to intercept and fired several R-27Rs, one of which scored a direct hit over a range of 27km. An Ethiopian TV crew captured the conclusion of this short engagement, and their video of the MiG-29 going down in flames was aired repeatedly on the national channel in the subsequent days.
Only one day later, on 26 February, another MiG-29 was intercepted while still in a climb over Mendefera. This time the lead FDREAF Su-27 established a lock on at well over 50km, scoring a hit with an R-27R. Both Eritrean MiG-29 pilots had been killed in the engagements, and as result, the ERAF flew no more combat sorties for the rest of the war 8). Eritrean claims that their fighters downed a number of FDREAF fighters before being shot down by Su-27s proved wildly exaggerated 9). Clearly an underdog in this conflict, the ERAF never attempted to seriously challenge Ethiopian air dominance. However, after the second MiG-29 loss on 26 February, the ERAF never again appeared over the battlefield.

8). Indeed, barely two weeks later, one of the remaining ERAF MiG-29 pilots deflected, leaving the air force with only two pilots qualified on the type - including C-in-C! It was only during the later stages of war that the ERAF was reinforced, when three or four pilots originally trained in Ethiopia, and then in Ukraine, completed their MiG-29 cources and returned to Asmara.
