One of our M-1 Abrams tanks that got badly damaged during combat. We lost five during a ambush by the Iraqi Republican guard. The M1A1 Abrams tank was quite a impressive machine and sights like this were very rare.

One of 2nd Armored div(FWD) M-1 tank losses during Desert Storm. I was less than 50 meters away when this particular tank took a round from a Republican Guard T-72 tank when they set up a ambush for us during a refueling operation. This particular tank probably saved my life and several other men their lives. We would have several tanks/AFVs destroyed or damaged at the end of this battle but we would go on to destroy the Republican Guard unit that ambushed us.
